Thanksgiving Food Drive @ CHS Begins

Students carry decorated boxes, possibly for a school event, near a doorway.
Cascade High School is kicking off the annual Thanksgiving food drive! Ms. Bullock's AVID Class has been creating turkey boxes to collect the food, and today they delivered them to all the classes. You can see more pictures on our Facebook page.

These students are encouraging the whole school to donate non-perishable food items to make sure every family in our community has a warm, delicious Thanksgiving meal. The need is high, and there is a class competition from Nov. 3-19 to see who can bring in the most food. Can they reach their big goal and be able to give away 275 boxes?

If you are in a place where you can donate, please contact the high school. If you are in a place where a food basket would really help your family, please contact Cheryl at the Cascade Family Resource Center - charmon@cascade.k12.or.us

Shout out to our Maintenance Staff!

HUGE thank you to our awesome Maintenance Department!

A few weeks ago a new leak emerged at Turner Elementary in one of the classrooms. Our crew got to work, clearing out the ceiling tiles before students arrived, and then up on the roof to find and repair the leak.

Then they got back in the classroom and repaired it with new ceiling tiles.

Our team is constantly at work maintaining and doing all they can to keep things safe and looking good!

Hands-on 6th Grade Science

Mrs. Bielenbergs' and Mr. Tedrow's sixth-grade science classes at Cascade Junior High School recently completed a unit on ecology.

After diving deep into life cycles, ecosystem interactions, and the critical role of keystone species, students took their learning outdoors.

Students participated in the Marion County Soil and Water Conservation District's Salmon Watch field trip at Packsaddle Park. This provided valuable, hands-on experience, allowing them to examine riparian areas, test the water quality of the North Santiam River, and study salmon biology and aquatic invertebrates.

Students' final task was an Ecosystem Project where they creatively showcased everything they learned, connecting classroom concepts directly to the riverbank and beyond. You can see more pictures on our Facebook page.

Cloverdale Shamrock Showcase

Cloverdale Elementary held their first "Shamrock Showcase" assembly this year. They choose students who highlight being Country Kind and Country Strong, as well as students who demonstrate the character trait of the month.

Some of the fifth grade students explained what Country Kind and Country Strong look like, as well as this month's character trait, Integrity.

Families were invited to come and see their student receive their award. Then, all the award winners had a "Minute to Win It" contest!

Turner Jogathon Results Assembly

Wow! Today at an assembly at Turner Elementary, everyone learned the results of the jogathon. Thanks so much to all the support from the Turner community, and especially the Turner Elementary Parent Club for organizing this amazing fundraiser!

Students ran a total of 7210 laps! And with all the pledges they earned for those laps, the jogathon raised $62,873.04!!!

This will make a huge difference for the school. Thank you everyone!
